This is getting better all the time :-)

I had kava three evenings this week but last night my friend wanted to meet down the pub. I had a tin of lager when I got home from work and having not had beer for a few days it tasted amazing, like it actually tasted of something. When you drink every day you just don't get the taste anymore. So I went out after that and really struggled to drink a whole pint. Considering only a few weeks ago I went out and drank about 8 pints of strong lager this is a real difference. The fact is I just didn't want the alcohol, part of me wishes I had just stayed in and had kava. Good to get down to the pub though, get out a bit.

So tonight I had a different experience from my kava. I used the Vanuatu waka from kava kauia which I mixed on Thursday. I did the same blender method with ginger and strained through a tea strainer but I was more careful to get as much out of the pulp as I could and as a result it was stronger. I could feel that on Thursday night. Tonight though I chugged it a quarter of a cup (my 250 to 300 ml cup that I use for kava), then chugged another 2 cups 20 minutes apart. This is the first time that I have had even slight euphoria and I got a nice feeling to go with it, a step up from my previous experiences. I don't know what made the difference, me getting more used to the kava (reverse tolerance breaking), the different mix (it definitely was stronger), or the method of taking it (chugging smallish amounts over a period of time)?

Also I still am yet to feel any nausea. Maybe slight stomach weirdness but nothing I would describe as nausea. I'm going to eat a small meal now nearly an hour after my last kava and that's probably me for the night. I may have a little more later once my stomach has emptied a bit but to be honest I find this kava quite stimulating and I have trouble sleeping afterwards if I am not careful. I'm waiting for some more sedative kava to come and then I will be making batches of both types, one to start me off early evening and one for just before I go to bed.

Hopefully these experiences will just get better and better until I find my sweet spot with the right kava at the right time in the right amount. Thanks to everyone who helped by answering my questions, I may still be blundering in the dark without.

One more plus side. I'm losing weight as I am not drinking alcohol every day. Also got a big list of jobs done today instead of lying in bed with a hangover. Am I rambling a bit now? Hmm... kava related I am sure :)

One question I have if anyone can help? I'm struggling to stay hydrated despite drinking quite a bit of water. Is coconut water really that much better at rehydrating you?

My friend has called again... so I'm going to the pub but going to drink something soft. No way I'm going to mix the two and I still feel nice so no need.

Ok so not had any kava since Sunday as I am out at work (I'm a long distance trucker, sometimes don't go home for days). I only had an hour last night between finishing work and trying to sleep and the only kava I have right now keeps me awake a little too much. Last week I had 4 or 5 days of kava with one day of alcohol and I kept to my eating routine really well, didn't eat rubbish and didn't crave alcohol. This week so far I had alcohol last night and tonight to help me sleep and I've eaten loads of junk and all at the wrong times. I really want to get my kava supply sorted with a good mix of stimulating and sedating types for the right moments, I honestly think it made a real difference to my life last week and into the weekend. Now I haven't had any for a day or two I can really feel it. On the bright side I think my BKH instant green has turned up and I can't wait to give that a try.

I tried recently the recommendation from someone on here about making your own sport drink. And It worked amazing... little sea salt, half a lemon and some honey in warm water... omg yum it actually tastes like Gatorade but more salt ;) haha

If you don't mind could you post a new thread with instructions how to make it and tag it with the green Kava Recipes tag? Thanks!!

@Zachary, just put it out here and tag Hedgie (@HeadHodge), he can make it happen. Heck, I don't know how either but that's probably because I haven't done the research around here. I'm sure there are some instructions somewhere around here. Headgie??

Ok, I'm guilty of not paying attention. I'm going to start paying attention. This forum has tons of cool features if you pay attention. So @Zachary, show us how it's done!
