What does Boroguru feel like to you?

I'm coming to believe that the mood you carry into the session steers the session. But on the topic of overcoming RT, it was night and day when the rubber hit the road.

I admire your persistence, @Pacifico, and I firmly believe that you and @Bwiggy will eventually reach your moment of zen. Drinking expensive foul-smelling dirty water for months isn't fun, but it's an investment in what will come. And once it comes, it will take very little and you can take long breaks as you see fit and it'll be right there for you when you come back. Think of it as paying-it-forward!

On the subject of Boroguru, I've had only GHK's and not any others, but I can say that it felt evenly heady and somatic for me, with euphoria as well as deep relaxation. It's quite nice, and I wish I had some now. :)
I might switch to Gaia capsules at night for "priming" before I order more; maybe a dose and a half. It's expensive though. I don't know if it's more economical but it's sort of "set it and forget it." My buddy came from NYC this past weekend and we binged it out on the other drink. That doesn't make me happy any more. Not enough pho in the world to neutralize it for me. I wish I was twenty again, when Gatorade handled my hangovers. Pho handled them in my mid/late twenties. After that, all alcohol is tudei.

hot DAMN!!! that is beautiful pho Pacifico. uuuugh, i'm drooling into my papa kea.
you might try that Maui Medicinals "brew or chew" that KOK was posting about for breaking through your RT i think that it worked out to $40/pound including shipping and according to KOK it was strong in small amounts when chewed.

Speaking of whole root pieces to chew; I wonder if @Gourmet Hawaiian Kava will get some back in stock sometime?

I like the discussion about intention. I think I will adjust my intention to...experience my experience, or connect with myself.

I've been drinking occasionally over the course of a about four or five months. I think within a week or so of @Steve Mariotti.
By occasionally, I mean once a month, then once a week, then not for a month, then twice a week. Not regular at all. Every time since the first time that I didn't have a good effect, I thought I was doing it Not Good Enough so I'd do something to improve the process. I've had a couple good experiences, but mostly very mild effects. Sometimes I don't feel good after drinking. Sometimes I have the Kalm. A couple times I had a great effect, sometimes I feel like I max out on the sugar after a couple doses and stop. Sometimes others trying it for the first time have a mild effect.

Regarding the traditional wash...because I don't ever seem to get a good effect from the traditional wash, I've written it off as I'm not strong enough.

I even bought an industrial strength sonic cleaner with water temp monitor (on eBay) and timer.
As an example, one time I let six tablespoons "clean" for a half an hour (max time) on 50 degrees C with a table spoon of oil and about 5 or 6 cups of water.
then "kneaded it for 15 min.
Then I drank two cups, waited 15 min, drank another 2 cups and called it done. I just felt gross. Never went back to the leftover.

You and I started drinking around the same time. I don't drink as often as you....but my mind tells me I should be getting as good of results as you, and when you did. So I've got that going for me.

But how many times did you drink before you think you broke RT....and is that really true, once you break it you can quit for a year, and then just come right back to it?

You sound like how I was when I first tried kava.! I'm sorry I know how frustrating it was lol. I really don't understand what the tipping point is... but here's a tip. If your unsure if your extraction is right... toss and wash a tablespoon with some black tea and milk and see what happens. Do that every night for a couple days!.

I'm interested in things

I guess what I was asking is whether you have arthritis or something that would actually decrease the strength of your hands. If not, and your hand strength is average, this should not be a problem..

Have you tried the blender or rolling pin methods?

Hi @verticity - I don't normally have arthritis or anything, but for the past couple months or so I have some left over pain in one of my elbows from overwork in the yard...and the pain does sometimes go down into my forearm. That does challenge the kneading a bit. Other than that, I'm just a regular girl, with girl strength.
I have tried the blender method - not with any better results, and burned out my blender after a couple times.

I did buy one of these for $70.00 First Mr. Kava machine?

Kava Steve

you could also try the kava extract from kava r us, I have not tried it yet, just ordered yesterday but the reports say it doesn't take much because of the 70% kavalactones

One thing I do if I have the patience/attention span is to smush it around (yes that is the technical term) with a potato masher, using a rocking motion, for 5 minutes before I knead it.

I get effects from using cold water or hot water. I like using cold water because I can drink it right away, but if I use hot water I put it in the freezer to cool down. I might do a test to see if cold or hot works better for me.

Interesting, I'll be curious to see how it works.
Since your unit is heated, you could try heating to see if that helps too.
I set it for 50 celsius and have it "clean" for 30 minutes. the heated water temp is not stable - it always goes above that...so I still have to babysit it for the half hour.

Then I knead it for 15 min.
I've done it twice like this (one of those times was a second wash) and I did get some good results - this week. I'm happy....although not as profound as what others have reported.
