I've been really diggin' bands such as sun araw, ratatat, tunng, the books and el ten eleven while I'm bowls deep.  How 'bout you?

Been into a lot of dubstep lately, not the most mellow to chill to but kava makes me want to dance

Ha.  I went through a few weeks of listening to Sun Araw's "Thoughts Are Bells" at the beginning of every session.  The structure of the song just seems to sync perfectly with the effects of that first bowl.  In terms of other rock, Chris Cohen's Overgrown Path has been a good soundtrack recently.

Mostly though synth-y ambient/drone is my go-to sound.  Dolphins into the Future, Emeralds, Loscil, Josh Burke, Peter Wright, Mirror, etc.   I collect '50s/'60s jazz and exotica vinyl but that stuff never sounds as good to me with kava for some reason, unfortunately.

kavalover, first aid kit is awesome. I still can't believe they're from sweden. Neither can I believe that Tallest Man on Earth is also. What's with that country making kickass american-style folk music?

and dan, I couldn't agree more. I found myself alone on new years eve so I made a 2 cup kava/ 4 cup water batch and pounded it, and put on 3 hours worth of sun araw. pretty gnarly.

Marley.  Bob not Ziggy.
The only one of Bob's sons that I like is Damien "Junior Gong", he is more like an awesome Jamaican MC than anything. He did a bunch of awesome tracks and an album with Nas that was rad, I saw the two of them play at Camp Bisco which is pretty much the sweetest festival in the Northeast. The rest of the Marleys are basically relying on the name and aren't that good. Stephen Marley isn't bad either, he did a really sweet song with Mos Def that I really liked.

Music has never been anything special to me while drinking kava.  If anything, I seem to care about it less...  Am I alone in this?
It's only the really emotionally charged songs that make a difference, but that's only because kava usually opens me up in that aspect.  For instance, the end of Debussy's Doctor Gradus ad Parnassum really gets to me.  But that's definitely not somethings I'd want to listen to regularly when drinking.

I'm this way until I make a batch of fresh frozen. It deepens music. Especially the lower frequencies.

I like some good epic metal after kava. I don't really have a favorite I listen to a lot of stuff. It's just impossible for me to choose. If anyone ever decides to listen to the stuff listen with lyrics. You can almost understand everything said with a lyric sheet to guide you.

Dubstep and electro specifically if I listen to any music at all while drinking kava. The point where the bass from the music hits that magic frequency where it resonates with the room...that's where it's at.

Kapm's right.

For some reason, I'm more hooked on watching atheist debates/interviews while krunked out. Right now, I'm on a Niel deGrasse Tyson kick.
