When to eat after kava?

Hi. I work from home and have finished for the day so taken my first taste of my new Kava. It's lovely...a little bit weird, tingling sensations - took 40grams in 500ml of water. My question if you can answer it is how long should I wait before I eat? I've googled but found nothing. Sorry if it's on here already, I'm not savvy with forums/social media etc and not sure how to search. Feeling a little ill in my tummy, haven't eaten since I got up at 6.30am.

I found it to be important not to eat before consuming kava. But lots of time I eat something almost immediately afterwards. I only eat protein with some fat in it (like hamburger or pork chop) and it seems to actually make the effects of the kava stronger for me. I read that eating too much or other types of food have the opposite effect and ruin the kava effects.

Thanks. I left it a few hours and had a cheese sandwich with crisps. I'm now thinking about having a different strain that I made up this morning in the fridge later this evening but I don't know how long I should wait before taking. My sandwich was probably 2 hours ish ago, I'm not hungry so it's too soon but I don't eat much anyway, little and often for me. So I probably won't actually have a 'dinner' but some sort of fruit/sandwich. I can't really stomach greasy food makes me sick. The batch in the fridge is BOROGU KAVA? The strain I took earlier wasn't very sedative. I was thinking about mixing this evening's drink with a Yogi tea bag? What do you think?

I normally only consume daytime kava's. So I'm not a good person to ask. But there are plenty of others who will hopefully give a good reply.

The food doesn't need to be greasy. Your cheese sandwich has lots of fat in it, so that should work just fine. I'm a low carb person, so I would personally eat the cheese directly without the bread. My favorite is to take a deli sliced piece of ham and lay a square of cheese on top it. Then roll it up and eat it like a lettuce wrap without the lettuce. :) Sometimes I'll even roll it up with a small pickle in the center. Hmmmmm gooood!!!

Yes cheese has fat but I suppose easier for me to eat - good tip re the ham wrap - might try that later. Thanks

fish & chips with crumpets ftw:D honestly free range turkey jerky activates kava more than anything else I have tried, I've noticed at around five shells if I continue drinking without eating I don't get much effects

I like to give it 4 hours without eating, and then 5-10 minutes afterwards with a little time to digest.

Sorry I don't even know how to use the smiley. I had posted a reply and now all I have is a confused face. Are you in the US? I don't think we have anything exotice like Turkey Jerky here...I'm not good with spicey food...I'm Irish...meat has to be burned to a cinder before I can eat it. I have very undeveloped tastebuds...Fish and chips we can do so maybe I will ask my hubby to pick some up on the way here. I exercise a lot so don't want to eat fatty food every day though. Thanks for taking the time out to respond, I appreciate it very much - this is where the smiley should be

Ok. So you would suggest that I eat more in the morning and afternoon? I'm so pleased that you guys are so helpful and non judgemental. I have trawled through lots of information on this forum today and wasn't sure if I was revisiting already covered....been told off on another forum for doing it, so thank you

Maybe make a thread in the New Members forum and tell us a little about yourself, since not too many people are going to see this one (I only did because I posted it and it alerted me).

At this point, I rarely eat anything after 7 or so, I just drink kava. I do eat larger meals earlier in the day to make up for that. This could be termed a form of intermittent fasting. Adjusting to something like this can be unpleasant for a few days but surprisingly is easy after that. But that's just me. Some people drink kava throughout the day, so obviously it wouldn't be acceptable for them.

Ok, I'll try to find out how to do that - thanks
