The dry powder smelled like tongan kava + parmesan cheese. Never smelled anything like it. It was light colored... a tannish color, and not with the reddish cast on Pouni Ono or KavaBoy especially. Not as tan as Hawaiian Ava though.

I'm honored to know the man that singlehandedly brought kava to the US and runs everything from his command center in Montana.

I usually don't eat for at least 4 hours before. Usually I drink kava around dinner time, before I eat dinner but after a good lunch. After starting to drink kava, I may eat about 3 hours into it, or I may just skip dinner as I get less hungry after drinking kava.

For me Hanakapi'ai was balanced, Papa Kea was heavy.
