I only drink kava straight, (with a some half and half added to give it a creamier texture) I've been drinking kava so long now that the taste doesn't bother me one bit...it's the taste of nature and peace.

Rather than chase, I add half & half to my kava. It gives it a silky texture and I actually like the taste of kava when blended with a creamer (no sweetener used) Whole Milk is also great, but I don't drink a lot of milk - and half & half keeps for several weeks.

My reasoning is that I don't like to use detergents, which might leave a residue, on a device that never really gets "dirty" (no food particles to rot or fester). I always decant my kava right after I make it, then just rinse the Aluball out really well and leave it to dry on the dish rack...
