Following some of the posts here about the benefits of using cinnamon and cardamom to chase away the kava taste a few weeks ago I decided to start experimenting with various teas and spices. I then remembered reading somewhere (Vincent Lebot's Elixir?) that hot meals or beverages can potentiate kava effects. After a week or two I came up with a perfect formula:
-rooibos tea + ground (or fresh) ginger, ground cinnamon, ground cardamom, ground cloves, ground fennel and ground cumin. You mix them all together and serve hot/warm after kava. It's an amazing chaser and its temperature can significantly potentiate kava effects. Furthermore, all these spices are very good for gas, bloating and nausea. So, you can kill three birds with just one stone. Give it a try, I highly recommend it.
