Kava Recipe get stronger effects and less nausea

Following some of the posts here about the benefits of using cinnamon and cardamom to chase away the kava taste a few weeks ago I decided to start experimenting with various teas and spices. I then remembered reading somewhere (Vincent Lebot's Elixir?) that hot meals or beverages can potentiate kava effects. After a week or two I came up with a perfect formula:

-rooibos tea + ground (or fresh) ginger, ground cinnamon, ground cardamom, ground cloves, ground fennel and ground cumin. You mix them all together and serve hot/warm after kava. It's an amazing chaser and its temperature can significantly potentiate kava effects. Furthermore, all these spices are very good for gas, bloating and nausea. So, you can kill three birds with just one stone. Give it a try, I highly recommend it.

That's a heck of an herbal tea you got there. I think it is heart friendly too. Damn Henry, why don't ya just make Curry and stick some chicken and kava in there. :hungry: But there maybe something to the hot meal thing. Do you guys remember one of the testimonials on the BHK site? "I drank some kava, I ate a bowl of beans and then ". And then he was blown away. I don't remember the exact quote. I used to kid that the combo of Kava and Beans would allow him to blow everyone else away (if you know what I mean). Hey Henry, maybe you can mix those spices and make some beans and do the experiment. You will have to conduct this experiment in a secluded remote location of course where you can do no damage to your fellow human beans.

@Deleted User01 hot meals/beverages after kava make a huge difference. Some people here thought that certain foods can potentiate the effects. I think it's actually the temperature. My tea has practically zero calories, fat etc and yet it really does add power to kava effects.

Seriously, this tea is absolutely amazing for bloating/nausea. I think it's the combination of heat and all the good spices. If you want to have a good kava session without any nausea, make a strong batch of kava (i.e. lower water to root ratio, as often suggested by @Gourmet Hawaiian Kava ) and drink this tea in between shells. You can then continue drinking it after your kava session. It is very pleasant and calming.

It's both. Each of these spices has a very pleasant and rather sweet taste that works well as a counterbalance to kava's bitterness. On top of that most of these spices can be helpful when it comes to various gastrointestinal issues:

(very effective)
-Fennel: "In herbal medicine fennel seeds are recognized as a powerful carminative – a herb that assists in expelling gas from your intestinal tract." http://flatulencecures.com/using-fennel-seeds-gas-cramps-bloating
-Cumin: "The spice appears to stimulate the liver to secrete more bile, which aids in the breakdown of fats and the absorption of nutrients, leading to healthier digestion" http://www.livestrong.com/article/415653-ground-cumin-health-benefits/
-Cloves: "Cloves promote enzymatic flow and boost digestive functioning. They are used in various forms of gastric irritability and dyspepsia. Licking the powder of fried cloves mixed with honey is effective in controlling vomiting. The anesthetic action of clove helps in dealing with stomach pain and stops vomiting." http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...ove-The-wonder-spice/articleshow/10301749.cms
-Ginger: Very good for nausea http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10793599

less effective, but tasty (so, optional from the point of view of preventing nausea, etc. but they taste great!): cinnamon and cardamom

That's a pretty interesting theory. (y)

Infraredz swore by following up kava with a glass of hot water and I do as well. I also think that eating substantial food may help though, by effecting the rate of gastric emptying.

It also tastes like butt so adding the herbs sounds great!

Nice find man, I have some of the passionflower tea I'll brew up again and maybe add ginger!
To me rooibos has a very sweet flavour. It is definitely nowhere near as bitter as black tea. In New Zealand we can buy chai rooibos tea (that is already mixed with some of the spices I listed above), it's simply delicious. I am sure you can also find it in America.

One more thing: when it comes to spices and their medicinal effects freshness is important beyond measure. Ideally, you should get fresh, sealed seeds that you will then be crushing before adding them to your tea. Always keep your spices sealed in some air-tight container.

I relinquish power to my footslaves on very few occasions, I'm afraid. So I wouldn't get my hopes up, my precious @ObiNouekFoNobl .... especially in public.
